ABUS Granit X-Plus Parabolic Security has somewhat of a cult status among US bicycle owners.

With it's 13mm - 1/2" core-hardened CrMo square bar shackle and double bolted Powercell crossbar, this U Lock (or D lock if you want) has proven to be a menace for would-be thieves. The 54 Granit U-lock uses the famed X-Plus key system making it virtually drill and pick proof. Ideal to lock up expensive and high risk bicycles.
