About Disc Locks |
|
Always remember, disc locks are
only a first level
protection against bike theft. That being said, it is also common sense that the more locks you pile on to your bike, the more you will slow down prospective thief's. Disc locks come in a wide variety and we stock all of them. Stapler Type Disc Locks will provide a basic low level protection. Mini versions usually have a small 5 to 7mm pin to fit in the small vent holes in your brake disc. Larger models have heavy pins with some double deadbolt locking. A great variant on Stapler Type Disc Locks are the Alarmed Brake locks. Alarmed Brake Locks come in several sizes from both Xena and ABUS. A shock or vibration sensor will set off an alarm when the bike is moved. Xena also provides a special CLAW to attach a high security chain. Bolt Type Brake Disc Locks are, simply by their design, ultra strong. Usually two rotating interlocked parts are making it virtually impossible to get such a lock off the disc, without making a lot of noise. Some ABUS models are available with a longer bolt to connect a security chain. U & Padlock Type Disc Locks provide a way to easily attach chains or cables while keeping the lock on the disc. These type disc locks tend to be very strong.
