The DIB Series U Lock has a true 16mm-thick double-locking hardened steel shackle that is guaranteed impossible to bolt-crop by hand(*) and is fitted with the same type of anti-pick disc-style cylinder as our SFB RL21 RoundLock.
This U lock is manufactured for Pragmasis & Lockitt in Taiwan.
Recommended for motorcycle and high-end bicycle (eBike) security or similar applications. Use the U lock on its own or with the Protector 11mm/13mm/16mm chains. The compact size and modest weight mean these can be very practical for portable security as well as at home.

Needed a lock to go with a chain for my new scooter. Had a previous scooter stolen so no cutting corners this time.
Was going to go with an Abus but was suggested this one instead, and it met all my needs- Thick, rated and not insanely expensive.
It's really a fine lock. Solidly constructed. Heavy but not unwieldy. Only things are- the key mechanism is a little finicky. It takes me a couple tries and some fiddiling around to get the base back on the U to lock it. Nothing major, I just haven't figured out it's quirkyness yet. (Ie- It's not a quality issue, just key needs to be a certain way to get the lock on, then you turn to lock and get the key out.)
The key is a little short. Shorter than my Abus disc lock key. Not sure what that means. I worry a bit about the number of cylinders. But- the Solid Secure rating reassures me, and if you've ever seen the Lockpicking Lawyer on youtube then you know... if they know what they're doing, thieves can get through literally any key-lock.
It has a little click-over cover to cover the key hole. To keep dirt and water out, I guess. But water gets in the U-mechanism anyway. Had some drip out after a recent rain.
Initially gave 4 stars based on the above (really 4.5), but I just pulled up their website from on the lock itself; I wanted to look something up. It looks like you can buy replacement bases, and different length U-bars. They're interchangeable. So you can have U-bars for a variety of situations without replacing the entire lock. That's very cool. I also saw how they named the lock, and so I'm upping it a half star based on those two new factors.
I still wonder about a U-lock versus a puck-lock for my specific situation. But as far as U-locks go, this seems a very high quality one.
