Head shapes vary and therefore fitting a helmet at your local dealer is always preferred.
But you can get an idea on what size helmet you need by measuring the circumference of your head, at the temple above the eyebrows. The chart below helps choosing the right size.
Scorpion EXO-R1 Air is in the Intermediate Oval head shape class.
Keep in mind you can always make adjustments later by swapping out different sized cheek-pads, or even the helmet liner, within the same outer-shell size*.

I really like this helmet. It looks great, weighs next to nothing, and the air flows very well through it. It also comes with a pinlock insert, two visors, one smoked, and one clear. It feels great to ride in. Service with these guys was fantastic as well. The only criticisms I have are that the air pump system seems a little more gimmicky than useful so far. Long term use might clarify that for me. Second, the helmet is just a little louder than I was expecting, but my previous shoei rf-1200 probably spoiled me in that area. However, compared to the shoei, it weighs less, circulates air better, and looks better. Overall a great product and great customer service.
