ABUS 83AL/45 with Aluminum lock body is part of the solid aluminum padlock series and ideal for corrosive environments. As with all 83 series house-key padlocks, the cylinders are available in a wide variety of existing house - door keys, eliminating the need to carry extra keys. Series 2 type 83 locks have a NANO PROTECT coated steel shackle for extra corrosion protection.
All 83 series locks have easy interchangeable shackles in case you need a longer or shorter shackle, can be switched from key-retaining to non key-retaining in seconds.
Cylinder Options:
ABUS 83 series padlocks are factory fitted with a Schlage or Kwikset * compatible cylinder with blank key. You receive a zero bitted lock and 1 key blank per lock which will open the lock.
The idea being to re-key the cylinder to a house key you already own. You can take the lock to any locksmith to have it quickly re-keyed or if you have a pin set, it is easy to re-key yourself. The supplied blank key can be cut to match your existing key.
