I have a 54 U-lock, and this clamp was crazy difficult to put on. It was slightly too tight, even after completely removing the screws. I needed to use a hammer to carefully tap it onto the shackle. Once on the shackle, I thought that the tightness would mean it was securely fastened, but instead it rotated surprisingly easily, and it was not possible to clip it into the holder. It took a lot of turning force on the screws to get it to stop rotating, and I'm still worried whenever I attach it to the bike.
Still, it works well now that it's attached and the lock is out of the way but accessible.
Note From Store Owner: Thank you for sharing your experience. Yes, the shackle clamps have a very tight fit on the U lock shackle. But we installed many and they slide over the shackle fairly easy (some force applied). of course a small portion of vinyl cover needs to be removed from the shackle before installing the clamp.
Something in this review makes no sense though.
The shackle on the 54 and 540 U locks is not a round profile. It is square. It is impossible to rotate the shackle clamp on the shackle, even without having the screws in.
